MailboxGUI 4.2.1 is a focused maintenance update that adds barrel mailbox support, improves language upgrade handling for older 4.x installs, adds new Notification API helpers, and improves the admin update-check workflow.

Barrel Support

MailboxGUI now supports barrels as valid mailbox containers.

Player mailbox setup now supports:

Fence Post
Single Chest OR Barrel placed on top
Sign attached to the front face of the chest/barrel

Public Post Office boxes now support:

Single Chest OR Barrel
Sign attached to the front face of the chest/barrel

Post Office boxes remain public access points and are not registered to one specific player.

Notification API

MailboxGUI 4.2.1 adds new Notification API helpers for future bridge modules and plugin integrations.

New support includes:

• Checking unchecked mail count.
• Checking pending login notification count.
• Checking whether a player has a pending mail notification.
• Refreshing a player’s physical mailbox notification.
• Clearing a player’s mail notification state.

Update Checker Improvements

Admins can now manually check for updates with:

/mailbox admin updatecheck
/mba updatecheck

The update checker still uses the Spigot update source for version checks and displays the official MailboxGUI download page:
